Got school supplies?

For a week in August St. Vincent de Paul Parish is sponsoring a school supply drive for homeless high school students in the area.  Please consider donating new school supplies to be distributed  to those less fortunate.  We will also be collecting new or very gently used back packs.  Items will be collected in the Gathering Area from 8/12 to 8/19. TI-84 Graphing Calculators are also needed, please contact  Ellen Lowrey 704-575-6890 to donate.

Catechists Needed

The Faith Formation program at Saint Vincent de Paul is in need of a few more catechists’ assistants for the Tuesday evening classes for the upcoming school year. A catechist’s assistant will provide support to the main catechist and grade homework at the beginning of each class. Please prayerfully consider volunteering for this position.

What do you need to be a catechist/assistant?

You must be a faith-filled individual living your life according to the teachings of the Catholic Church. If you feel called to pass on the Catholic faith to the next generation, you may be the person we are looking for. You do not need any formal training or certifications to help with the Faith Formation program. However, you will need to complete the VIRTUS: Protecting God’s Children program as well as a background check if interested.

If you are interested, please contact Riley Provost at

704-554-1622 or

We offer our congratulations to our fellow parishioner, Herbert Quintanilla, who the bishop on August 10 called to candidacy to the permanent diaconate.  This is the first of three rites that lead to ordination as a deacon. Herbert  will now enter a three year program of formation.  Please pray for his and his wife’s continued discernment as to how God is calling them into deeper service to the Church.  If you are interested in learning more about the steps to become a deacon, please contact the diocesan Director of Formation, Deacon Scott Gilfillan, at

Renewal of Vows 2018

The Knights of Columbus would like to thank Fr. Voitus for officiaring the Wedding Vow- Re-Commitment Ceremony and all the St. Vincent de Paul parishioners that participated in this event on February 10th. We had over 25 couples in attendance for this ceremony.  Thank you all !

Santa Zita's Circle

Santa Zita Circle held their annual Santa's Bag where children 2-12 years of age had a personal elf to assist with Christmas shopping. We had over 150 young shoppers and they all went home with nice gifts for family members. This day would have not been made possible without the assistance of all who were involved.

We would like to say "Thank You" to our Parish Clergy and office staff, Rosalba, Elsa, wrapping, kitchen crews, cashiers, elves, Santa's Helpers, Boy Scouts, Santa Zita Circle, Domino's Pizza at Quail Corners and all who volunteered and donated.  We hope to see you in 2018.
